{"id":10852,"date":"2016-12-14T16:15:06","date_gmt":"2016-12-14T16:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=10852"},"modified":"2016-12-15T13:20:57","modified_gmt":"2016-12-15T13:20:57","slug":"christmas-delivery-strike-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=10852","title":{"rendered":"Christmas delivery strike off"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Both\u00c2\u00a0parties have come to a mutual agreement on the treatment of the historical pay issues specific to the Barton site which will be put to the Unite members in a ballot.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a result, all planned industrial action has been suspended pending the results of the ballot, which will be concluded as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s agreement demonstrates Wincanton and Unite\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s desire to reach an amicable agreement, one that addresses the needs of all interested parties.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe have had constructive talks with the Wincanton management today (December 14) and, as a result, we have hammered out a deal that Unite feels it can recommend to our members,&#8221; said Unite regional officer Rick Coyle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThe details of the deal are confidential and we will be balloting our drivers on the offer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWhile this ballot is being conducted all proposed industrial action has been suspended and our members at the Argos national distribution centre in Staffordshire will be working normally,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bI would like to thank our members for the solidarity they have shown during this dispute and we look forward to a positive relationship with the management at Wincanton going forward.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A Wincanton spokesperson said,\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe are equally pleased that our planned meeting today has produced an outcome which works for all parties.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bAll industrial action has now been suspended pending a ballot on the terms of the agreement among Unite members, and at this important time of year, the Argos business will be unaffected.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThis issue is specific to Barton, Staffordshire, and no other Wincanton operations have been affected.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Argos said, &#8220;We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re pleased that both sides (Wincanton and Unite) have resolved their issues.
