{"id":12153,"date":"2017-04-20T17:23:31","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T16:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=12153"},"modified":"2017-04-20T17:23:31","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T16:23:31","slug":"ferry-strike-called-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=12153","title":{"rendered":"Ferry strike called off"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Tomorrow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s strike (April 21) that would have hit travellers using the Woolwich Ferry has been suspended, as \u00e2\u20ac\u0098positive progress\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 has been made in talks today (April 20) in the dispute over a bullying culture.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite held talks this morning with Briggs Marine Contractors Ltd, which runs the service on behalf of Transport for London (TfL).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tomorrow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s strike on the Woolwich Ferry has been suspended as we have made very positive progress this morning in talks with the management,&#8221; said Unite regional officer Onay Kasab \u00e2\u20ac\u015bOur members will be working normally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe will be holding further talks on Tuesday (April 25) where we hope to resolve the outstanding issues. Unite won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be commenting further until those talks have concluded.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>About 3,500 vehicles a day use the free service across the Thames which opened in 1889, following the abolition of tolls across bridges to the west of London.
