Striking hospital workers, cabin crew and Bank of England staff will be coming together for a series of protests in London tomorrow (August 3) to highlight their fight for better pay.<\/p>\n

The Unite members from Barts Health NHS Trust, British Airways mixed fleet and the Bank of England, who are all separately taking industrial action, will be coming together under the banner of \u00e2\u20ac\u0098London United\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 in a show of solidarity.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The \u00e2\u20ac\u0098hat-trick\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 of protests starts at 8am\u00c2\u00a0outside\u00c2\u00a0JP Morgan\u00c2\u00a0where\u00c2\u00a0Serco\u00c2\u00a0will present its half year results to investors. For more, see\u00c2\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unite members employed by Serco as domestic staff, porters and security workers at Barts Health NHS Trust are battling for a 30 pence an hour increase. The workers are currently taking part in a 14-day strike that started on 25 July. It follows an earlier 48 hour stoppage and seven day walkout in July.<\/p>\n

Workers will then move on to the\u00c2\u00a0Civil Aviation Authority\u00c2\u00a0for a protest at\u00c2\u00a011:00\u00c2\u00a0over the approval for British Airways to \u00e2\u20ac\u0098wet lease\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 nine Qatar Airways\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 aircraft to cover striking cabin crew on British Airways\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 mixed fleet.<\/p>\n

Unite argues that the approval breaks regulations covering the wet leasing of aircraft. Unite cabin crew members working for British Airways will be taking their 58th day of strike action tomorrow in their fight against poverty pay and the sanctioning of striking cabin crew. The protests conclude at\u00c2\u00a013:00\u00c2\u00a0with a rally outside the\u00c2\u00a0Bank of England, where workers are striking for the first time in 50 years. The dispute centres on the imposition of a derisory below inflation pay offer and the refusal of management to engage in meaningful negotiations with Unite over the pay deal for the second year running.
