{"id":12976,"date":"2017-08-09T14:40:18","date_gmt":"2017-08-09T13:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=12976"},"modified":"2017-08-09T14:40:18","modified_gmt":"2017-08-09T13:40:18","slug":"battery-plant-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=12976","title":{"rendered":"Battery plant sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite said it would be seeking guarantees over the pay, terms and conditions of its members at Nissan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Sunderland battery manufacturing business after the carmaker announced its sale as part of global deal to GSR Capital.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (August 8) announcement of a sale and purchase agreement covers Nissan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s battery subsidiary Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC), as well as battery manufacturing operations in Tennessee, owned by Nissan North America, in addition to the Sunderland operation, which is owned by Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Around 300 people work at Nissan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s battery manufacturing firm on Wearside.
