{"id":14039,"date":"2017-12-01T17:13:16","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T17:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=14039"},"modified":"2017-12-01T17:13:16","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T17:13:16","slug":"birmingham-bin-fight-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=14039","title":{"rendered":"\u00e2\u20ac\u0098Victory for common sense\u00e2\u20ac\u2122"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite praised the solidarity and determination of Birmingham city council refuse workers after they backed a deal at a mass meeting on<span lang=\"EN-US\"> November 25 <\/span>that brought the long running Birmingham bin dispute to an end.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Describing the deal as a \u00e2\u20ac\u0098victory for common sense\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, Unite said the deal hammered out at Acas with Birmingham city council would see the grade three role retained, albeit it with a change of job title and added responsibilities such as data collection for refuse compliance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Refuse workers are set to transition to the new roles in February 2018 under the deal which was endorsed by Birmingham city council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cabinet on November 24.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the deal, the imminent high court hearing did not go ahead as envisaged.
