{"id":14493,"date":"2018-01-26T15:12:06","date_gmt":"2018-01-26T15:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=14493"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:59:11","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:59:11","slug":"sutton-tanker-driver-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=14493","title":{"rendered":"Tanker driver dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite will next week launch a legal counterattack on \u00e2\u20ac\u0098an outrageous attack on workers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 rights\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Over thirty members of Unite employed by Suttons Tankers, as drivers and fitters, had been on strike since Friday January 19 as a result of the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s plan to dismiss and re-engage them on inferior terms and conditions, which would slash the workers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 pay.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, January 24 Unite was given less than 30 minutes\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 warning that Eastham Refinery Ltd of Ellesmere Port, where the workers are based, were in Manchester High Court seeking an injunction.
