{"id":14896,"date":"2018-03-28T16:32:45","date_gmt":"2018-03-28T15:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=14896"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:59:05","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:59:05","slug":"coca-cola-site-closures-rethink-unite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=14896","title":{"rendered":"\u00e2\u20ac\u0098No business case&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Coca Cola has not made the business case for the closure of its sites at Milton Keynes and Northampton and should have an urgent rethink, Unite said today (March 28).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The drinks giant has confirmed its plans, announced in January, that the manufacturing site in Milton Keynes and the distribution centre at Northampton would close in 2019 with the loss of nearly 300 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThis is devastating news for the workers and their families, and the local economies in Milton Keynes and Northampton,&#8221; said Unite regional officer Sally Mortimer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bUnite does not believe that Coca Cola has made a convincing business case for these closures.
