submarine business comes ahead of tomorrow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s launch (May 15) of a report that warns the UK will miss out an economic windfall of up to \u00c2\u01411.35 billion if the government hands the build of the Navy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s three new Fleet Solid Support ships to overseas shipyards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The report, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unitetheunion.org\/uploaded\/documents\/FleetSupportShips-2018-05-1411-34321.pdf\">Supporting the Royal Navy, supporting the United Kingdom<\/a>, <\/em>for the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions (CSEU) and supported by Unite will be launched by ship workers from across the UK in the Houses of Parliament tomorrow (May 15), 4pm-6pm, Wilson Room, Portcullis House, SW1A 2JR.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s news will help sustain thousands of highly skilled jobs in BAE\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s submarine business and throughout the supply chain, but the government can and should do more to safeguard UK shipbuilding for generations to come,&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0said\u00c2\u00a0Unite assistant general secretary Steve Turner said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bMinisters could seize an economic windfall worth an additional \u00c2\u01411.35 billion, as well as securing jobs in UK shipbuilding and manufacturing communities for generations to come, by committing to manufacture the navy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s three new Fleet Solid Support ships in Britain,&#8221;
