{"id":15294,"date":"2018-05-29T16:51:12","date_gmt":"2018-05-29T15:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=15294"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:58:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:58:43","slug":"pirelli-tyre-strikes-cancelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=15294","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Excellent result&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Planned strike action by Unite today (Tuesday May 29) concerning workers operating on Staffline Recruitment contracts, at the Pirelli tyre factory in Carlisle, has been cancelled following a breakthrough in negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The workers were operating on a \u00e2\u20ac\u0098contract for services\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 arrangement which was effectively a zero hours contract which denied them the vast majority of normal employment rights.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite has negotiated that the workers will now be employed on permanent contracts, some of whom will be with a new employer who will take over a portion of the existing contract.
