{"id":16023,"date":"2018-08-30T16:52:51","date_gmt":"2018-08-30T15:52:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=16023"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:58:16","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:58:16","slug":"south-yorkshire-police-tattoos-jewellery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=16023","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Draconian&#8217; dress code"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite has described a new \u00e2\u20ac\u0098appearance and standards\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 code for all staff employed by south Yorkshire police as being \u00e2\u20ac\u0098draconian\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and not reflecting society.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The code was introduced without consultation with Unite, which represents civilian police staff in south Yorkshire, introduces stringent rules for all staff including those in non-public facing roles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In particular Unite is concerned over the rules regarding hair, facial hair, tattoos, jewellery and footwear.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With regards to hair the policy states: \u00e2\u20ac\u015bWear your hair so that it is cut or secured above the collar and ears. Extreme and vivid hair colouring is not permitted. Hair should be of natural colours and extra tones should be natural and subtle.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With regards to facial hair designer stubble is banned as the policy says, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bAn unshaven\/stubbly appearance is unacceptable\u00e2\u20ac\u0165. Lengthy beards are also barred.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>South Yorkshire Police are also very anti-tattoo. \u00e2\u20ac\u015bTattoos visible on your face, neck, hands or head are not permitted;\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 tattoos on forearms must be covered.
