{"id":16741,"date":"2018-11-19T16:32:17","date_gmt":"2018-11-19T16:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=16741"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:57:52","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:57:52","slug":"gatwick-strikes-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=16741","title":{"rendered":"Gatwick strikes off"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Two planned 48 hour stoppages involving Gatwick airport workers which were set to start tomorrow (November 20) and Monday, November 26\u00c2\u00a0have been suspended while workers vote on a revised pay offer, Unite announced today (November 19).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The workers, employed by the logistics giant Wilson James, provide assistance to passengers with disabilities and those who need help getting around Gatwick airport.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The dispute centres on a demand for a \u00c2\u01411 an hour\u00c2\u00a0pay rise. Those assisting disabled passengers are paid just \u00c2\u01418.27 per hour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Workers will now vote on whether to accept or reject a revised offer with voting closing on Monday, December 10.
