{"id":16756,"date":"2018-11-20T16:10:08","date_gmt":"2018-11-20T16:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=16756"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:57:52","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:57:52","slug":"living-will-outsourcers-carillion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=16756","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Lost the plot&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite,\u00c2\u00a0 which represented hundreds of workers affected by Carillion\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s collapse, has said the government \u00e2\u20ac\u0098has lost the plot\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 after it announced proposals to require outsourcers to produce a \u00e2\u20ac\u0098living will\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, in case they collapse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a major speech yesterday (November 19) the cabinet office minister David Lidington announced that major government outsourcers will be expected to draw up a \u00e2\u20ac\u0098living will\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, which is expected to set out how contracts can be managed in the event of their corporate failure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The \u00e2\u20ac\u0098living will\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 proposals are part of the government\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s plans to improve how they undertake and manage outsourced contracts.
