{"id":16876,"date":"2018-12-17T16:26:56","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T16:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=16876"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:57:50","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:57:50","slug":"fat-cats-pay-increase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=16876","title":{"rendered":"Fat cat execs still raking it in"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Over 500 high-ranking executives rake in wages worth more than \u00c2\u01411m a year, despite ordinary workers suffering a cost of living crisis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lrd.org.uk\">Labour Research<\/a> organisation, which carried out the analysis, compared the bumper pay packets of Britain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fat cat bosses to the \u00c2\u014129,574 a year an average worker earns.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Company <a href=\"unitelive.org\/tag\/fat-cats\">fat cats<\/a> saw their pay increase by 8.6 per cent on average in the latest financial year, compared to just two and 3.3 per cent for the majority of workers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite general secretary Len McCluskey said, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bThe fat cats are taking all the cream while Britain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s workers work harder and earn less. We need tough action to rein in fat cat pay and a strengthening of trade union rights to organise and bargain for better wages on behalf of workers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bIf Britain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s boardrooms want workers to help make them profits, it is high time they paid them fairly and started acting responsibly.
