{"id":17074,"date":"2019-01-25T14:39:18","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T14:39:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=17074"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:57:46","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:57:46","slug":"durham-bus-drivers-pay-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=17074","title":{"rendered":"\u00e2\u20ac\u0098New dawn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>A new era in employment relations is possible at Arriva Durham County Ltd, following its 650 bus drivers voting in favour of a revised pay offer by a large margin.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite said today (January 25) that the drivers, based at Darlington, Durham, Redcar, Stockton\u00c2\u00a0and Whitby, voted\u00c2\u00a0 by a large majority in favour of the pay package which will run to March 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite said that the 10 days of strike action by the drivers due to have started on Sunday (January 27) will now not go-ahead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe can confirm that our members have voted to accept the revised pay offer,&#8221; said Unite regional officer Ray Sanderson. &#8220;Our members will now be working normally, as the strike action has been called off.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe would like to pay tribute to our members for the strong solidarity they have shown during the course of this dispute, which has helped enormously to reach the settlement we now have,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to a constructive dialogue with the management going forward for the benefit of the travelling public and our hardworking members.
