{"id":17291,"date":"2019-02-12T14:48:02","date_gmt":"2019-02-12T14:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=17291"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:57:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:57:43","slug":"dagenham-cleaners-ford-pay-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=17291","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Significant victory&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Cleaners at Ford in Dagenham are being recommended to accept an inflation-busting pay rise of three per cent for 2019, Unite has announced.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 150 cleaners, employed by Hamton Environmental cleaning contractors, have also received a firm commitment that as market conditions improve, through future pay agreements, the management will pay the lowest paid cleaners at the Dagenham plant the London living wage, currently \u00c2\u014110.55 an hour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite hailed this inflation-busting increase, backdated to January 1 this year, as \u00e2\u20ac\u0098a significant victory\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 for #HeartUnions week which celebrates the work of the trade union movement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The cleaners will now be balloted on the offer and the result of the vote is expected in early March.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite regional officer Matt Smith said, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe welcome the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s above inflation pay rise offer for some of the lowest paid workers in the automotive sector.
