{"id":18194,"date":"2019-06-06T16:47:09","date_gmt":"2019-06-06T15:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=18194"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:56:26","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:56:26","slug":"hackney-council-strikes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=18194","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Enough is enough&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Hackney council is being blamed for six days of planned strikes by drivers and passenger escorts on school buses for disabled children in a new dispute over payments for working split shifts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite said its 38 members, who drive and assist the children to and from school on a daily basis, will stage six 24 hour strikes on June 18, 20, 25 and 27 as well as July 4 and 9 , all starting at just past midnight. The staff voted unanimously for the new strike days.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The dispute centres on a \u00c2\u014150 a week claim for compensation for the split shifts, backdated to July last year when the issue was first raised. Unite said this claim is based on the next grade in the Green Book national agreement which the union believes is the correct one for this group of workers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThis new dispute is a result of council bosses adamantly refusing to negotiate for nearly a year,&#8221; said Unite regional officer Onay Kasab.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bBut \u00e2\u20ac\u0098enough is enough\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, as our members live in one of the world\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s most expensive cities.
