{"id":18459,"date":"2019-07-16T16:09:41","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T15:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=18459"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:56:01","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:56:01","slug":"diageo-pay-offer-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=18459","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Insulting&#8217; pay offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite has today (July 16) confirmed that it will move to ballot its members at Diageo for strike action following the overwhelming rejection of a derisory pay offer of 2.5 per cent made to the workforce.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The workforce voted by 95 per cent to reject the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s pay offer following weeks of negotiation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Diageo, whose brands include Smirnoff, Bailey\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, Johnnie Walker and Guinness reported an operating profit of almost \u00c2\u01414bn in 2018.
