{"id":18728,"date":"2019-09-04T16:34:25","date_gmt":"2019-09-04T15:34:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=18728"},"modified":"2020-11-12T12:55:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T12:55:36","slug":"rolls-royce-managers-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=18728","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Historic moment&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite has signed a landmark agreement to represent 1,700 Rolls-Royce managers at the firm\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Derby and Hucknall sites after record numbers of managerial staff joined the union.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Managers at the firm have suffered a series of cut backs, including hundreds of job losses, in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite regional officer Tony Tinley said the number of <a href=\"unitelive.org\/tag\/rolls-royce\">Rolls-Royce<\/a> management staff who have joined the union is \u00e2\u20ac\u015bis unheard of in the modern day\u00e2\u20ac\u0165.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tinley added, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bThey feel their terms and conditions have been eroded, they felt they did not have a voice and they could see that they didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have the same protections as there are on the shopfloor against compulsory redundancy.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The interim agreement is the first of its kind for management levels at Rolls-Royce in Derby and Unite is expecting to roll this out to all the firm\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s UK sites over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The interim agreement was signed in Derby by Unite\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s regional secretary Paresh Patel and Roll-Royce\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Andrew Page, head of employment relations for civil <a href=\"unitelive.org\/tag\/aerospace\">aerospace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Patel said, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bThis is a historic moment for Unite and Rolls-Royce.
