Jeremy Corbyn vowed to take <\/span>action against \u00e2\u20ac\u015btax dodgers, bad bosses and big polluters\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span> as he took aim a<\/span>t<\/span> Britain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u015bcorrupt system\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 at the la<\/span>unch of Labour\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s general election campaign yesterday<\/span> (31 October)<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unite<\/span> has<\/span> welcomed the coming general election, w<\/span>ith <\/span>general secretary<\/span> Len McCluskey s<\/span>tating<\/span> the country needs to \u00e2\u20ac\u015b<\/span>get rid of this disastrous prime minister and put <\/span>Jeremy Corbyn<\/span><\/a> and Labour in power<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Highlighting Labour\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u015bambitious and radical\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span> strategy<\/span> to build a <\/span>fairer and more productive nation<\/span> at the launch of the election campaign<\/span>, <\/span>Corbyn<\/span> outlined plans to transform the economy and<\/span> tackle the climate emergency<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking in London<\/span>,<\/span> Corbyn promised,<\/span> \u00e2\u20ac\u015b<\/span>r<\/span>eal action on the climate crisis by creating hundreds of thousands of new, green energy jobs in communities where they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re most desperately needed<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0165.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added, \u00e2\u20ac\u015b<\/span>This election is our last chance to tackle the climate emergency with a Green Industrial Revolution at the heart of Labour\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s plan to transform Britain.<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span><\/p>\n

Corbyn <\/span>said he would<\/span> \u00e2\u20ac\u015bget <\/span>Brexit<\/span><\/a> sorted\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 within six months <\/span>by offering the public a vote on a \u00e2\u20ac\u015bsensible Brexit deal\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span> negotiated by Labour<\/span> or the option to remain within the EU. <\/span><\/p>\n

Born-to-rule Conservatives<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Corbyn<\/span> also<\/span> hit out at <\/span>Boris Johnson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u015b<\/span>born-to-rule Conservatives<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0165, who he said are only interested in<\/span> protect<\/span>ing<\/span> the privileged few.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u00e2\u20ac\u015b<\/span>They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve slashed taxes for the richest and vital services and support for everyone else.<\/span> This election is a once-in-a-generation chance to transform our country, take on the vested interests holding people back and ensure that no community is left behind.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u015bW<\/span>hen Labour wins, the nurse wins, the pensioner wins, the student wins, the office worker wins, the engineer wins. We all win.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Corbyn stated that Labour\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s election campaign would<\/span> also<\/span> focus on domestic issues such as raising the minimum wage, building affordable homes, <\/span>nationalising \u00e2\u20ac\u015brail, mail and water\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 and<\/span> ending Universal Credit. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unite general secretary <\/span>Len McCluskey sai<\/span>d<\/span> Labour<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/span> strategy of campaigning on a broad range of issues was the right thing to do. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He told the BBC, \u00e2\u20ac\u015b<\/span>People are trying to say it will be just about Brexit. No it won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t. The Tories would like it<\/span> to be<\/span> about Brexit but it will be<\/span>about<\/span> a lot more than Brexit. <\/span>It will be about<\/span> what type of nation we want Britain to be<\/span>.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span><\/p>\n

On the issue of Brexit, McCluskey said <\/span>Johnson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s deal<\/span> with the EU would<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0be an \u00e2\u20ac\u015babsolute disaster\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 that would cost jobs and investment<\/span>, while <\/span>the Liberal Dem<\/span>ocrats are intent on ignoring the UK\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 17m leave voters<\/span> by revoking Article 50 and cancelling Brexit altogether.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

McCluskey said<\/span>, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe<\/span> need to expose <\/span>(Johnson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Brexit deal)<\/span> and explain that <\/span>Labour<\/span><\/a> will negotiate a much better a deal, a credible deal, that will protect jobs and investment in our communities, and then that<\/span> will<\/span> go back <\/span>to<\/span> a confirmatory vote. Let the people decide.<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/span><\/p>\n
