{"id":2163,"date":"2014-11-07T15:39:13","date_gmt":"2014-11-07T15:39:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=2163"},"modified":"2014-11-07T15:39:13","modified_gmt":"2014-11-07T15:39:13","slug":"equal-just-nation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=2163","title":{"rendered":"For a more equal and just nation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>North Ayrshire and Arran MP, Katy Clark, is being backed by Unite in her bid to become deputy leader of the Labour Party in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite announced its support on Wednesday (November 5) for Ms Clark and will be urging members to cast their vote for her in the deputy leadership ballot when it opens later this month.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite Scotland\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s support comes after consultation with members\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 representatives, drawn from across working and community Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bKaty Clark is well known to our members as a fighter for working people,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 commented Unite Scottish secretary, Pat Rafferty.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe believe that they see in Katy someone determined to work for a Scotland that is a more equal and just nation.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This was important as, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bToo many of our members and too many in Scotland\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s communities feel abandoned by politics, believing that while politicians want their votes they do not want their views.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bKaty Clark is not one of those politicians.
