{"id":2648,"date":"2015-01-09T11:37:56","date_gmt":"2015-01-09T11:37:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=2648"},"modified":"2015-01-09T12:26:21","modified_gmt":"2015-01-09T12:26:21","slug":"point-blank-pay-refusal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=2648","title":{"rendered":"Point blank pay refusal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>After posting record profits, Japan Airlines has unequivocally refused to grant cabin crew on its highly lucrative Heathrow route a fair pay rise, provoking Unite members into serving notice of their intention to ballot for strike action today (January 9).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nUnite\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s proposals to resolve the dispute, which cost a mere \u00c2\u01412,000 more than the airline has currently agreed to offer, were rejected in favour of imposing a freeze in basic pay for long serving cabin crew.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nCabin crew members at the top of the pay scale will currently receive no pay rise beyond the \u00c2\u014196 a year increase in London weighting. The lowest paid crew, on a basic wage of only \u00c2\u01419,000 a year, will receive a paltry \u00c2\u0141285 annual pay rise.
