{"id":28422,"date":"2021-04-15T12:17:12","date_gmt":"2021-04-15T11:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=28422"},"modified":"2021-04-16T12:25:12","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T11:25:12","slug":"gs-election-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=28422","title":{"rendered":"GS election 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Yesterday (April 14) the Unite Executive Council set in hand the election process for \u00c2\u00a0a new Unite general secretary.<\/p>\n<p>The current general secretary, Len McCluskey, will step down from office and the successful candidate will assume office at the conclusion of the election.<\/p>\n<p>The general secretary is responsible for the administration of the union; their powers and responsibilities are set out in Rule 15.
