{"id":4633,"date":"2015-07-02T16:52:15","date_gmt":"2015-07-02T15:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=4633"},"modified":"2015-07-02T16:52:15","modified_gmt":"2015-07-02T15:52:15","slug":"act-of-betrayal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=4633","title":{"rendered":"\u00e2\u20ac\u0098Act of betrayal\u00e2\u20ac\u2122"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite and the GMB union accused Nestl\u0102\u00a9 UK of acting in \u00e2\u20ac\u0098bad faith\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 today (July 2) as the company announced plans to close its career average pension scheme in a move that unpicks pension changes agreed in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nWarning that the move could be seen as an \u00e2\u20ac\u0098act of betrayal\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 by the workforce, the unions urged the company to think again. Under the plans Nestl\u0102\u00a9 wants to close the defined benefit scheme, currently offered on a career average basis and replace it with a defined contribution or \u00e2\u20ac\u0098money purchase\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 scheme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe proposals backtrack on pension changes introduced five years ago which saw the final salary pension scheme scrapped for a career average scheme on the understanding that it would be an industry leading scheme.
