{"id":4756,"date":"2015-07-10T15:44:30","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T14:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=4756"},"modified":"2015-07-10T15:44:30","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T14:44:30","slug":"honour-pay-deal-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=4756","title":{"rendered":"Honour pay deal call"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The delivery of cash to the UK\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 4,500 post offices could be hit, if a group of Post Office managers take industrial action over the management\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s refusal to make an agreed one-off payment of between \u00c2\u0141750 and \u00c2\u0141975.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe warning from Unite, which represents about 900 Post Office managers, came as the Post Office announced today (July 10) a \u00c2\u0141100 million operating profit and a \u00c2\u014133 million reduction in operating losses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u015bPost Office bosses seem to be in a parallel universe \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they are crowing about the improving financial position, yet are too tight-fisted to honour the 2014 pay deal for about 150 managers who control the cash supplies to the 4,500-strong post office network,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 said Unite officer for the Post Office Brian Scott.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThe crux of the dispute is that the first stage of the lump sum was paid at the end of last year, but the second tranche of between \u00c2\u0141750 and \u00c2\u0141975 is not being paid as it is alleged the managers did not reach a service target,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u015bUnite strongly disputes this and the proof is in the pudding \u00e2\u20ac\u201c our members have contributed substantially by their hard work to the Post Office\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s latest profit figure of \u00c2\u0141100m and rosier financial position.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u015bIt is Unite members that have worked hard to deliver these changes that have contributed to the profit figure in extremely difficult circumstances and the management\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s refusal to honour a negotiated agreement on pay is just not acceptable,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 Scott went on to say.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe have been making every effort to get the Post Office to see sense, but every overture has been ignored.
