{"id":5077,"date":"2015-08-03T17:27:33","date_gmt":"2015-08-03T16:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=5077"},"modified":"2015-08-03T17:27:33","modified_gmt":"2015-08-03T16:27:33","slug":"tube-strike-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=5077","title":{"rendered":"Tube strike on"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Over 400 Unite members, working as electrical and maintenance technicians, linesmen and signallers on London\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s tube network will be taking part in a 24-hour strike from 6.30pm on Wednesday (August 5) in an ongoing dispute over the introduction of all-night Tube services.<\/p>\n<p>Accusing London Underground of offering nothing \u00e2\u20ac\u0098meaningfully new\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, Unite has been left with little choice but to reject the latest offer, saying that management failed to give future guarantees over work\/life balance and unsocial hours working.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite members will be joining members from ASLEF, RMT and TSSA in the 24-hour stoppage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWe have engaged in Acas talks in a positive manner hopeful that we could avoid further industrial action,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 said Unite regional officer Hugh Roberts. \u00e2\u20ac\u015bSadly, that has not been the case with London Underground which has rehashed previous offers and failed to give future guarantees over work\/life balance and unsocial hours working.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bAny reasonable employer wanting to introduce unsocial night shifts and the upheaval that brings to their workers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 home life would be engaging with workforce representatives in a constructive manner,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bInstead, London Underground has offered nothing meaningfully new.
