{"id":5547,"date":"2015-09-09T14:41:26","date_gmt":"2015-09-09T13:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=5547"},"modified":"2015-09-09T14:41:26","modified_gmt":"2015-09-09T13:41:26","slug":"get-grip-on-manufacturing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=5547","title":{"rendered":"Get grip on manufacturing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Unite has made it clear ministers have still not \u00e2\u20ac\u0098got to grips\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 over formulating a coherent manufacturing strategy as figures showed a sharp dip in\u00c2\u00a0industrial output in July.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The union said that the success of the UK car industry was masking the underlying weakness in the economy, compounded by a widening trade deficit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Stark message<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThe message is stark \u00e2\u20ac\u201c chancellor George Osborne\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s so-called \u00e2\u20ac\u0098march of the makers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 has gone into reverse gear,&#8221; said Unite assistant general secretary Tony Burke.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bUnite has repeatedly castigated the government for its lack of a manufacturing strategy \u00e2\u20ac\u201c a blueprint for the next decade.
