{"id":6341,"date":"2015-10-19T16:38:33","date_gmt":"2015-10-19T15:38:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=6341"},"modified":"2015-10-19T16:38:33","modified_gmt":"2015-10-19T15:38:33","slug":"domino-effect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=6341","title":{"rendered":"Domino effect"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Steel firm Caparo Industries has today (Monday October 19) announced it is going into administration putting 1,700 jobs at risk.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unite described the news as \u00e2\u20ac\u0098yet another hammer blow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 to jobs and livelihoods.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThis is yet another hammer blow for steel and manufacturing communities across the UK already reeling from the closure of Recar and job losses at Tata steel,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 said Tony Burke, Unite assistant general secretary.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The news comes ahead of tomorrow expected announcement by Tata about the future of its long products division and follows the closure of SSI in Redcar with the loss of 2,200 jobs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unite has renewed its calls for the government to urgently step in to support the UK steel industry.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00e2\u20ac\u015bGovernment ministers need to ask themselves &#8211;
