{"id":8599,"date":"2016-05-04T17:09:44","date_gmt":"2016-05-04T16:09:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=8599"},"modified":"2016-05-04T17:09:57","modified_gmt":"2016-05-04T16:09:57","slug":"think-again-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=8599","title":{"rendered":"Think again"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Talks between Unite and Unipres have broken down at the automotive company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s facility in Sunderland over proposed changes to a profit-sharing scheme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite had requested a meeting with management following a ballot in which almost 75 per cent of members backed industrial action.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The union has also announced members will begin an overtime ban which from a minute past midnight on Friday, May 6, something that it likely to see the company struggle to meet supply demands.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unipres &#8211; which supplies car parts to Nissan and Honda &#8211; has refused to discuss any changes to what was already on the table, or enter into any serious negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8216;Major unfairness&#8217;<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite national officer for car manufacturing Tony Murphy said, \u00e2\u20ac\u015bThere is a major unfairness in that this would be a self-financing deal because the company wishes to remove money from the current profit share scheme, this is unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bOur members are not willing to finance their own deal whilst the company continues to make healthy profits.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite has close to 400 members on site.
