{"id":8740,"date":"2016-05-18T12:55:16","date_gmt":"2016-05-18T11:55:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=8740"},"modified":"2016-05-18T12:55:16","modified_gmt":"2016-05-18T11:55:16","slug":"more-jobs-and-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=8740","title":{"rendered":"More jobs and investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Financial media reported that JBS, the largest global food manufacturer, has informed its shareholders that it will seek to relocate headquarters to Ireland, a move that Unite has welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unite representing workers in Moy Park says that the decision must mean additional jobs and investment to follow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sean McKeever, Unite officer for workers at Moy Park hailed the reports.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bReports have now been carried in a variety of media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, which indicate that JBS, the largest food manufacturer in the world, has informed its shareholders that it is to seek to relocate their official international headquarters to Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bThis is a company which reported a net income or profit of \u00c2\u0141918m on revenues of \u00c2\u014132.2bn for the year ending December 2015; it employs more than 200,000 people worldwide,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 he explained.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bTheir proposed move comes less than a year after the Brazilian company acquired Moy Park, one of Northern Ireland\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s largest employers, where Unite represents the overwhelming majority of workers,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 McKeever noted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bWhile we recognise that this decision may have been driven by the group\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s desire to reduce corporation tax liabilities, we welcome moves which will allow a much greater degree of integration between the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s international operation and their holdings in Ireland, in particular Moy Park,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 he went on to say.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u015bIf approved by relevant agencies globally, the move would potentially result in tiers of management jobs coming to Ireland, as well as additional operational investment.\u00e2\u20ac\u0165<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;
