{"id":9328,"date":"2016-07-19T12:17:26","date_gmt":"2016-07-19T11:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unitelive.org\/?p=9328"},"modified":"2016-07-20T09:29:42","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T08:29:42","slug":"pushed-to-the-limit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unitelive.test.igniteamt.com\/?p=9328","title":{"rendered":"Pushed to the limit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">North Sea oil and gas workers are to strike for the first time in a generation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Almost 400 members of Unite and RMT unions who work for multinational oil and gas services company, Wood Group across eight Shell oil and gas platforms in the North Sea will take industrial action in a dispute over 30 per cent pay cuts and changes to allowances.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00e2\u20ac\u015bStrike action by our members is not a decision they take lightly, but they have been pushed to the limit by an employer unwilling to rethink proposals to slash their pay and allowances,\u00e2\u20ac\u0165 said John Boland, Unite regional officer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first 24-hour stoppage will take place on Tuesday July 26 and will be followed by a series of other stoppages over the following weeks.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">John explained;
