‘Exceptional’ deal
Workers at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) have overwhelmingly backed an â€exceptional pay deal for an exceptional workforce’ in a consultative ballot, Unite announced today (November 29).
Over three quarters (77 per cent) of those voting gave the â€thumbs up’ to the two-year deal of 3.5 per cent, plus a ÂŁ750 bonus in year one, with an inflation-proofed retail price index (RPI) plus 0.5 per cent rise in year two.
The deal, which will be backdated to 1 November this year, affects workers at JLR’s workplaces in Castle Bromwich, Coventry, Halewood, Solihull and Wolverhampton.
“This exceptional pay deal is no less than the workforce at JLR deserve and is recognition of their continued hard work which has made the carmaker such a world beater,” said Unite national officer Roger Maddison.
“It is testament to workforce’s skills and dedication that JLR can look to the future with confidence and only right they share in the carmaker’s continued success.”
