‘Matter resolved’
The dispute involving Morrisons’ supermarket petrol stations in London, the South East and East Anglia has been settled.
Unite said today (January 27) that the 19 drivers, employed by DHL Supply Chain and based in West Thurrock, were continuing to work normally and there was now no threat of industrial action.
The dispute had centred on a driver who had his wages â€docked’ over seven months to the tune of ÂŁ5,200, after he was involved in an accident, which the union had said was not his fault and that the bosses’ reaction was â€grossly unfair’.
Unite members were being balloted for strike action and industrial action short of a strike last week (January 19).
But after constructive talks, both sides have reached an agreement.
A joint statement from DHL and the union said, “Following productive talks with DHL management, Unite is pleased to confirm that this matter has been resolved satisfactorily.”
The terms of the settlement remain confidential.
