‘Determined as ever’

Unite general secretary Len McCluskey spoke this morning (February 16) in a wide-ranging interview with business news network Bloomberg over the news that Peugeot may buy out General Motors’ (GM) European operations, which would include its UK Vauxhall affiliate.

McCluskey noted that Unite was ‘determined as ever’ to secure jobs — only a day after the news broke, he met with business secretary Greg Clark and this morning will meet with GM president Dan Ammann. McCluskey said Unite is also in talks with sister unions in France, Germany and the United States.
