A new deal

Unite calls on all to attend TUC march and rally
Hajera Blagg, Monday, April 23rd, 2018

It’s been nearly a decade of Tory-driven austerity and working families across Britain have endured assault after assault — to their pay, to their terms and conditions, to their public services such as the NHS which has now reached breaking point.

The realities of the present moment are stark — 3m people are forced into insecure contracts, with real wages still below levels before the financial crisis in 2008. Public sector pay workers haven’t had a proper pay rise in eight years — they earn far less in real terms than they did a decade ago, even as housing, food and other prices go inexorably up.

Unite is urging all to attend a TUC march and rally on May 12 in London to voice their anger at the choices this government has made that’s stacked the deck against working families. Collectively we’re demanding a new deal for working people.

Don’t miss out – contact your region to book your seat. Transport is free for Unite members and their families. You can find out more here.
