Stop this social cleansing

As the housing crisis grows and local councils continue to carry out what can only be described as social cleansing, Unite members continue to support housing campaign groups across London.

The New Era Estate campaign was a great success for local activism. Unite supports the call for more council housing, housing that is affordable for the people who keep our cities running. The current policy of some councils is to sell off, or in the case of West Hendon estate, to give away housing to developers and move whole communities away from their families, friends and support networks.

We spoke to residents and the Our West Hendon campaign group about what is happening on their estate.
