Speaking out for Scotland

Leading speakers address Unite Scotland conference
Martin Scanlon, Tuesday, January 19th, 2016

Unite Scotland held its first ever policy conference last weekend (January 16/17) as the union deepens its commitment to its members and their communities to provide distinctive solutions for their concerns.

Delegates attending came from across Scotland – from local authorities to the oil and gas sector. They  gathered to debate a wide-ranging set of policy proposals, covering issues such as alternatives to austerity, alleviating the funding crisis in local government, tackling the trade union Bill and fracking.

They heard from leading speakers Len McCluskey, the Unite general secretary, Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s First Minister, Kezia Dugdale, the leader of the Scottish Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the Labour Party.

Now you can hear the speeches too in our link below. So grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy.
