Bursary or bust

On April 18 among the thousands who joined the People’s Assembly march against austerity were countless Unite NHS members.

From their ranks, member and student nurse Danielle Tiplady was there to get further support for Unite’s campaign to save the NHS bursary, enabling students to enter nursing and other NHS professions without having the additional costs of tuition. The government now wants to change this – and Unite fears this will make life even harder for those wanting to do life-saving NHS work .
